Military Training

As a military student training institution, Anglo is honoured to hold a licence that allows Thai students to participate in military field training under the supervision of the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC). This opportunity is available to both male and female students who are currently in semester 1 of Secondary 4. Male students who complete a minimum of three years of training will be exempt from the selection process for mandatory military service when they reach 21 years of age.

The training programme is designed to not interfere with students’ academic studies, with the majority of sessions held on weekends at the Territorial Defense School Military Student Center in Bangkok from September to December every year. Additionally, there are residential camps for field training at Khao Chon Kai, Kanchanaburi Province, which are three days long in the second year of training and five days in the last year of training.

The Anglo School Director, appointed as the Military Students’ Director of School by the Army Reserve Training Brigade (MSL) and the Ministry of Education, offers all necessary support and assistance to enrol students in the field training programme. The application process begins with a fitness test, which includes completing 35 sit-ups in two minutes, 25 push-ups in two minutes, and an 800-metre run in under 4 minutes.

Participating in military training is an opportunity for students to develop leadership, discipline, and patriotism. It instils a greater sense of strength and responsibility, which can have a positive impact on their overall character development while at Anglo.
