The Anglo Theatre and Drama Society

Theatre is most importantly a journey into self awareness. It is only by understanding ourselves that we can truly understand the world.

ATDS is an exciting group that explores Theatre and Drama in many different ways. Each week has a new focus to help the students hone their skills and look at the world in a more theatrical way. They learn games and techniques that are used by famous and actors and directors. Students learn how to control their voices, movement, emotions and how to empathize. They also learn about blocking, staging, props and costumes, and scriptwriting. They learn different styles of acting from Shakespearean to Improvisation. They learn about the power of words and the deeper meanings of text.

All of these skills will help them in the real world as they become more aware of other’s motivations, feelings and intentions. They can adapt to whatever situation they find themselves in. Their command of language will aid them in their careers and their personal relationships. Hopefully they will become more empathetic and deep thinking individuals that can see the world through clearer yet magical eyes.
