Secondary education at Anglo customises its curriculum emphasis by matching the learning abilities and interests of our students to the requirements of the IGCSE / GCE ‘O’ level curriculum. Both courses of study are very similar in terms of syllabus and contents which provides our Singaporean and International students the opportunities to work towards international certification provided by Cambridge International Examination board (IGCSE) or the Singapore Cambridge Examination board GCE ‘O ‘ level.
Secondary education is a very important stage in the knowledge attainment path of every student. Specialization begins at this stage, where students begin to specialise in selected subjects of their choice. It is with these specialisations that the students are able to gain in-depth knowledge of their subjects in the post-secondary curriculum. The curriculum is built on the following scheme:
a) The Inner Circle centering on life skills ensures that students acquire sound values and skills
to take them through life as responsible adults and active citizens. It comprises the non-academic
curriculum.
b) The Middle Circle on knowledge skills seeks to develop students’ thinking, process and
communication skills. This will enable students to analyse and use information and be able to
express their thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively.
c) The Outermost Circle covers the content-based subject disciplines. It ensures that students have
a good grounding in content across different areas of study. This includes Languages
(English, Chinese, Thai, Korean, Japanese, Malay), Humanities & Arts, Mathematics and Sciences.
