Secondary and Junior College Curriculum

Our Secondary and Junior College Programme offers an integrated six-year curriculum that blends the academic depth of the Singaporean system with the expansive scope of the Cambridge curriculum. The programme is structured into three stages: Lower Secondary (focusing on core knowledge), Upper Secondary (emphasising deeper learning and preparation for IGCSE exams), and Junior College (focused on preparing students for university through Cambridge AS and A-levels). The curriculum provides a broad range of subjects during the Lower Secondary years, while Upper Secondary and Junior College allow students to select flexible subject combinations, including electives and the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) in Junior College. Upon completion of Secondary 4, students sit for the IGCSEs, followed by AS and A-levels in Junior College.

Anglo’s secondary education programme is designed to provide students with a well-rounded and rigorous education that prepares them for academic and professional achievement. Drawing from the challenging Singaporean and Cambridge frameworks, the curriculum prioritises core subjects such as mathematics, science, and English, while also inspiring and challenging students to reach their full potential.

Upon completion of the secondary stage, students are awarded the globally recognized Cambridge IGCSE qualifications. The programme is dynamic and forward-thinking, providing students with the skills they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Students who have completed the secondary stage are eligible to progress to the Junior College (JC) programme, which offers a specialised and intensive educational experience designed to prepare them for university. With a variety of subjects available across mathematics, science, business, art and humanities, this two-year programme builds on the skills and content knowledge gained during IGCSE study, providing a unique and challenging learning experience that equips students for success in the constantly evolving global landscape.

English First Language

Mastering English is key to thriving in today’s globalised world. That’s why we offer English as the primary language for all classes and instruction. We are committed to equipping students with the highest levels of English proficiency, empowering them to communicate confidently and effectively in a wide range of contexts.

Our comprehensive English language programme ensures that students can continue to develop their language skills, moving on to first-language English at IGCSE level if they wish to pursue a study of the language itself, or careers such as writing or journalism.

We recognise that not all students have the same career aspirations or interests, which is why we additionally offer the flexibility to study English as a second language at the IGCSE level.

Studying English as a second language still ensures students receive all the necessary skills they need to communicate effectively whilst studying abroad or working in a global setting, and may better suit student interests and needs.

Mathematics

Mathematics education fosters cognitive development, logical reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills - all of which are indispensable in today's technology-driven world. Moreover, a robust foundation in mathematics paves the way for tertiary studies and career opportunities in fields like engineering, finance, and technology.

At Anglo, we offer a unique integrated mathematics program, modelled after the acclaimed Singaporean national curriculum, that is specifically designed to allow students to explore and understand the subject in greater depth, thereby enabling them to excel academically and professionally in their future endeavours.

In today's fast-paced and technology-driven world, science education is essential for success. At Anglo, we introduce biology, chemistry, and physics as three separate subjects from the start of secondary school, allowing students to develop a deeper understanding of the unique principles and concepts of each scientific field. Languages: Chinese

Chinese (Mandarin) is a crucial language to learn, given the rising global significance of China and the fact that 15% of the world's population speaks Chinese. Native-speaking Chinese educators at Anglo bring both language expertise and cultural understanding to help students learn Chinese and prepare them for the IGCSE.

Thai

Languages: Thai

Thai language and culture exposure enables students to better assimilate into the local community and communicate more efficiently. Consequently, we include Thai language instruction in our curriculum, in compliance with government regulations.

The Thai language programme is designed to cater to the varying requirements of non-native and native speakers. The curriculum for native Thai nationals is consistent with national standards and prepares students to take the IGCSE examination in the language.
