    Community Involvement Programme

At Anglo, we believe that meaningful learning extends beyond the classroom and into the heart of the community. Our Community Involvement Programme (CIP) is a cornerstone of the curriculum for all students from Secondary 1 to Junior College 2. It is designed to foster civic responsibility, empathy, and a deep commitment to service.

Each student is required to participate in three community service outings per academic year. These outings are compulsory and count towards graduation requirements. The structured service-learning experiences are carefully aligned with the developmental goals of each year level, enabling students to engage with real-world issues in age-appropriate and impactful ways.

In Secondary 1, students complete a minimum of 20 hours with a focus on ecological literacy. In Secondary 2, they also complete 20 hours, with an emphasis on volunteerism and engagement with non-governmental agencies. By Secondary 3, students take on 35 hours centered around elderly empowerment, while Secondary 4 students commit 40 hours to youth empowerment. In Junior College 1 and 2, the commitment increases to 63 hours each year, focusing on projects that support disadvantaged schools.

Through these experiences, pupils not only contribute meaningfully to society but also cultivate key life skills such as compassion, initiative, teamwork, and critical thinking. Whether engaging with local NGOs, supporting environmental initiatives, or working directly with underprivileged youth and elderly communities, students deepen their understanding of social equity and their role as responsible global citizens.

The CIP is more than just a requirement—it is a transformative journey that inspires pupils to lead with empathy, act with purpose, and make a lasting impact on the world around them.

The CIP offers students the chance to develop their personal growth and skills while making a positive impact on the community. It fosters a sense of civic engagement and community commitment among students, encouraging them to take part in active volunteering, donation drives, and other community activities. The programme’s emphasis on practical application and real-world impact provides students with a meaningful and enriching learning experience that prepares them for active citizenship in the future.
